Description

Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) is an umbrella term to describe a family-led process that allows a family network to come together and make a plan in response to concerns about a child's safety and wellbeing. FGDM meetings help to ensure a family network is engaged and empowered throughout the decision-making process of a children's social care journey, and can include identifying practical support for parents, while prioritising the wellbeing of the child. Children's Social Care is one of the Secretary of State's priorities and the FGDM policy links in with the Opportunity Mission. Through this procurement, we want to deliver on the government's commitment to keep families together and children safe, as outlined in Keeping children safe, helping families thrive , published in November 2024.
