Description
The South Yorkshire Learning Disability and Autism Keyworker Service is expanding to an all age service and will include the integration of a dedicated team of Peer Support Workers (PSWs) within a local Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) model. This approach ensures that lived experience is at the heart of care delivery, offering tailored and meaningful support to autistic individuals and people with learning disabilities who have complex needs.The contract will be for 3 years with option to extend for 1 further year making a total contract length of 4 years.The available budget is £227,050 per annum, which must not be exceeded. This figure includes all aspects of the service to be delivered, any bidder including caveats to this service may be considered as submitting a non-compliant bid.
Total Quantity or Scope
Service Expansion and StructureTo meet increasing demand, the Peer Support Worker team will grow from 1.4 Whole-Time Equivalent (WTE) to:• 1.0 WTE Senior Peer Support Worker• 5.0 WTE Peer Support WorkersThe team will be fully embedded within the South Yorkshire LDA Keyworker Service, working closely with Senior Keyworkers and Keyworkers, who will allocate cases, provide supervision, and ensure structured intervention plans.The Role of Peer Support WorkersPeer Support Workers will work alongside keyworkers to provide additional capacity, ensuring that people and families receive the right support at the right time. The PSWs will:• Support individuals through structured programs of work, based on needs identified by the keyworker.• Provide emotional and practical support, helping individuals navigate services and build confidence.• Work one-to-one with people who have complex needs, offering lived experience perspectives.• Facilitate community engagement, supporting access to local services and activities.• Help individuals develop goals, recovery plans, and self-advocacy skills.Maintain records of engagement and contribute to service evaluation and improvement.
