Description

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice (via Direct Award C). The BNSSG Community Urology Service will provide rapid access, one stop assessment and diagnostic service for routine urological conditions, delivered in non-hospital settings linked to the six BNSSG GP Localities. The service will work in an integrated way with other providers of urology services in primary, community and secondary care to provide patients with the most appropriate urology pathway to meets their needs. The service includes: • A triage service where all non 2 week wait referrals are triaged by the Provider with support from the BNSSG Referral Support Service. This ensures that all patients appropriate for community services will be seen by the provider and any urgent or acute referrals are sent on to an Acute provider. • The BNSSG Urology advice and guidance service with 100% of requests being responded to within 7 working days. • An assessment, diagnostic and treatment service for patients with routine and urgent non-cancerous urological conditions. The service is primarily a 'one stop' service. • Prescribing medication where necessary, using the BNSSG formulary guidelines, rather than sending patients back to their GP for a prescription. • Provide follow-up appointments and management plans where clinically appropriate.

Total Quantity or Scope

BNSSG ICB ("The Commissioner") is to commission a service for rapid access, one stop assessment and diagnostic service for routine urological conditions, delivered in non-hospital settings linked to the six BNSSG GP Localities. The service will work in an integrated way with other providers of urology services in primary, community and secondary care to provide patients with the most appropriate urology pathway to meets their needs. … The Commissioner is directly awarding a contract to the existing provider GP Care UK Limited in accordance with the criteria outlined in Regulation (9) of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The total value of the contract is £4,950,460.00 for a four-year contract length. There will be no extension period included in the contract. The four-year period will commence on 1st April 2025. Additional information: The existing provider is satisfying the original contract and will likely satisfy the proposed contract to a sufficient standard.

The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023 (Consequential and Other Amendments) Regulations 2025 (PA 2023) do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by midnight (23:59) on 25th April 2025 to bnssg.communitycontracts@nhs.net. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.
