Description
Trydan is seeking to procure professional services for two wind farm developments in South Wales, from conceptual design through to securing planning consent. These services include: • Lot 1: Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Support and Technical Support. • Lot 2: Terrestrial Ecology and Ornithology. • Lot 3: Planning Support. • Lot 4: Civil Engineering Support. Trydan is looking for a single leading Contractor for each individual Lot. The successful leading Contractor for each lot will be responsible for delivering the proposed services for both wind farm projects.
Lot Division
1 | Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Support and Technical Support
The appointed Contractor will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the EIA for both projects. The Contractor will deliver external facing documentation, including (but not limited to) the EIA Scoping Report and Environmental Statement, which will support the planning application for each project. As part of the EIA process, the appointed Contractor will draw on baseline information, stakeholder engagement, and best practice methods to deliver the scope of services identified within each of the work packages. In addition, the appointed Contractor will work closely with Trydan, and the successful Contractor(s) from Lots 2-4, to develop an infrastructure design for each project that balances environmental, planning, technical, engineering, and commercial considerations. |
2 | Terrestrial Ecology and Ornithology
The appointed Contractor will be responsible for co-ordinating ecological and ornithological surveys for both projects. The Contractor will also be responsible for inputting to external facing documentation, including (but not limited to) inputs to the EIA Scoping Report and Environmental Statement, which will support the planning application for each project. As part of the EIA process, the appointed Contractor will draw on baseline information, stakeholder engagement, and best practice methods to deliver the scope of services identified within each of the work packages. In addition, the appointed Contractor will work closely with Trydan to develop a site-wide Net Benefit for Biodiversity strategy for each project. |
3 | Planning Support
The appointed Contractor will be responsible for advising on the planning strategy and deliverables for both projects. The appointed Contractor will act on behalf of Trydan to submit the planning application for both projects to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales, a role which will also include delivering external facing documentation, including (but not limited to) the Planning Statement and Green Infrastructure Statement. The appointed Contractor will play an integral role in co-ordinating and contributing to the determination phase of both planning applications. |
4 | Civil Engineering Support
The appointed Contractor will be responsible for providing civil engineering and geotechnical / mining expertise to inform the infrastructure design for each project. In addition, the appointed Contractor will advise and, if required, support the delivery of site investigation works at both projects. |
