Description
Framework for medium to large-scale civil engineering and building work associated with the construction, refurbishment, repair, maintenance and improvement of existing and new electricity substation sites primarily within National Grid's Electricity Transmission Networks. The Project Civils Framework typically, but not exclusively covers construction, modification or alteration to buildings, foundations, fencing, roofing, noise enclosures, interceptors, drainage, sewage treatment plants, roads and cable ducts at National Grid Substations and other non-operational sites owned by National Grid or for which National Grid has maintenance responsibilities.
Lot Division
| 1 | General Civils General Civils - includes groundworks, foundation construction/piling, structural repairs, foul and surface water works, drainage outfall works, construction/repair of bund walls, building works and minor demolition works. Concrete Works - includes repairs, breaking out and renewal of various concrete structures Surfacing Works - includes the construction and maintenance / repair of roadways and paving areas Refurbishment Works - includes substation and other building refurbishment, replacement of doors & windows, brickwork repairs, reconstruction, renewal and demolition of structures. Mechanical & Electrical Works - includes updating or replacing of lighting systems, heating / ventilation systems, mechanical and electrical installations Enabling Works - includes construction of temporary access roads/pathways, management of traffic controls, modification of domestic services, excavation of contaminated soils, clearance of water courses, provision of temporary access equipment. |
| 2 | Non ISS Security Fencing Services & Associated Works • Construction of substation fencing (usually steel palisade) and foundations. • Repairs to substation fencing and gates. • Installation of gates, including sliding and power operated sliding gates. • Construction of concrete pathway adjacent to the fence. • Installation and maintenance of electric pulse fencing. • Installation and repair of intruder detection systems. |
| 3 | Roofing and Cladding • Substation pitched tiled roof installation and repair. • Substation flat roof installation and repair. • Substation cladding installation and repair. • Cladding works to indoor switch houses and other similar buildings. |
| 5 | Noise Enclosures Design, supply, delivery & installation of a range of Noise Enclosures at new and existing electricity substations, to include Noise Enclosures for: • Super grid transformers (275kV and above) • Transformers (132kV and below) Remedial works and retrofit of existing noise enclosures. Decommissioning & removal of noise enclosures. |
