Description
This notice concerns the award of a call-off contract for the HMPPS Community Payback Scheme. The contract is for the provision of 24 sets of four weigh pads, which are needed to accurately calculate the loads of Community Payback vehicles.
Total Quantity or Scope
Community Payback, also known as unpaid work, is an option available to sentencers at court. It involves individuals undertaking work projects that benefit their local communities. HMPPS operates its own fleet of vehicles to transport individuals participating in unpaid work, along with their equipment. The scope of the procurement concerned the provision of 24 sets of four weigh pads, used to accurately calculate the loads of Community Payback vehicles. The combined capacity of the weigh pads was required to be no less than 5 tonnes (5,000 kg), and the weight indicator had to be digital and powered by a rechargeable battery. The weigh pads were also required to be wireless and waterproof, suitable for outdoor use. Additionally, the solution needed to include the integration of ramps to facilitate the boarding of vehicles. Delivery was required to 22 locations across England and Wales, and a 12-month warranty was specified.
