Weston College Group is a college of further and higher education providing education and vocational training to nearly 30,000 learners across the country. The college puts the learner first and is entrepreneurial in its approach and innovative in its thinking. The successful contractors will be required to provide project support that meet the requirements of the specification from the contract commencement, across the following Lots: Lot 5 - Ecology Consultant Lot 6 - Topography Lot 7 - Ground Investigation

Proposed Services - Ecology Consultant services on behalf of Weston College Weston College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified ecologist consultant for a project to relocate the CTC to a greenfield site at Hewish. Services required during the period of consultancy will include, but not limited to, the following: To agree a fee scale against an agreed scope of services. Note - the costs/scale of fees set out in the live project included in the tender submission, shall be used as a template for agreeing future fees. Conduct a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal for the proposed CTC site and the adjacent land parcel. For each project opportunity, to agree the client brief and work with the Capital Works SCWPM (CWPM) and the wider design team to identify key milestones and costs. Provide the Preliminary Ecological appraisal. Carry out the Biodiversity Net Gain assessment [pre planning for ECIA] Providing services as the client-side ecologist services for a capital scheme (above an agreed threshold of £200,000) at Weston College Assisting with the preparation of reports; assessments and tender documents. Meeting regularly with college senior managers. Providing guest lecturing/speaking slots (allow for 1 x 2 hr slots per year) related to the FE/HE built environment curriculum.

Proposed services - Topography Services on behalf of Weston College Weston College is seeking to appoint a suitably topography specialist sub-contractor. Services required will include, but not limited to, the following: To agree a quote against an agreed scope of services. Assisting with the preparation of reports; assessments and tender documents. Meeting with technical design team. Project Introduction The land parcels plus section of the A370 that are subject to the topography tender can be located on the attached hyperlink Google Maps. Survey works at proposed site at Hewish bounded by the coloured patch in image 1 Carry out a full Survey Grid: [related to the Ordinance Survey coordinate system]. Allow for including the section of the A370 highlighted image 1. Features to be surveyed: - Road channels, top of kerbs, f footpaths, Changes of surface. On site heights including trees and services. Individual trees, groups of trees, edge of scrub and planted areas. All trees with a diameter less than 0.15m to be surveyed Smaller ones can be recorded within a group Boundary features including walls, fences and hedges. Type and height to be noted. Drainage information including manhole covers, gullies, inspection covers, direction of fall; invert/cover levels Visible service information including overhead cables, electric poles/pylons, telephone poles, service covers. Top and bottom of embankments Water courses including top and bottom of banks, invert levels and water levels. - Extent of ponds and lakes. Spot levels taken at 3m spacing - Contours drawn at suitable intervals depending on gradient of site The above is a guide, but all permanent features within the site are to be picked up. Provide electronic drawings in DWG format Within the coloured boundary of image, conduct a full below ground scan using three techniques. Radio detection Signal Generator detection Power avoidance detection Record all findings accurately on the topographical survey drawings. 7 Ground Investigation

Proposed Services - Ground investigation services on behalf of Weston College Group Weston College is seeking to appoint a suitably ground investigation specialist sub-contractor. Project Introduction A quotation is required to carry out specialist ground investigation works at land is adjacent to Stable View Caravan Site [A370, Hewish, Weston-super-Mare BS24 6RD. The works shall include both two plots marked on the plan [Location of the proposed site in Hewish.doc] The land parcels plus can be located on the attached hyperlink Google Maps. This site is currently undeveloped greenfield land that is mostly laid to open pasture. Please note that the section of the A370 covered by the blue patch will not be included in the survey works. There is good vehicle access for plant and equipment to the site from the A370 in Hewish. Ground investigation survey works at proposed site at Hewish bounded by the coloured patch in image 1 Carry out a full ground investigation survey of the land parcel Allow for 10 number; 30m long; 150mm cable percussion boreholes in locations to be agreed with the structural & civil engineering consultant. Allow for insitu standard penetration tests Allow for U100 samples if the soli [strata permitting]. Record and monitor the levels of ground water in the boreholes Set up and monitor and report ground gases levels over a period of 2 weeks. Allow for a Waste Acceptance Criteria Test [in 4 areas around the proposed building location[s]] Allow for contamination suite tests [please state what has been allowed for] Provide written report of all the findings. Provide a dimensioned plan setting out the location of all the borehole samples
