Description

Norse Group are seeking appropriately licensed providers to collect &/or receive food waste for treatment. NEWS currently provides a reception, storage, loading and treatment contract for Food Waste delivered by Broadland Council, the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and Norwich City Council. The existing contract that NEWS has for bulk collection (from nominated Transfer Stations) and treatment of the Food Waste expires on 30th September 2025. NEWS is seeking suitably qualified bids for the provision of Food Waste Collection &/or Treatment Services on behalf of a number of Waste Collection Authorities (WCA’s) as described above along with Breckland Council, South Norfolk Council, Amber Valley Norse (Derbyshire) and Calderdale (West Yorkshire).

2 Collection & treatment from Kings Lynn Treatment Station

Collection & treatment of food waste (commercial & residential) from Kings Lynn Transfer Station, Norfolk for around approximately 4,750 tonnes per annum.

3 Collection & treatment from North Walsham Transfer Station

Collection & treatment of food waste (commercial & residential) from North Walsham Transfer Station, Norfolk for around approximately 2107 tonnes in the first contract year rising to around 4,003 tonnes for each year after.

4 Collection & Treatment from Caister Transfer Station (April 2027)

Collection & treatment of food waste (residential) from Caister Transfer Station, Norfolk for around approximately 1750 tonnes in the second contract year and annual each year after.

5 Collection & Treatment from Amber Valley Norse (Derbyshire)

Collection & treatment of food waste (residential) from Amber Valley Norse Area Derbyshire, for around approximately 300 tonnes in the first contract year and rising to around 5,300 tonnes each year after.

6 Collection & treatment from Halifax Transfer Station

Collection & treatment of food waste (residential) from Halifax Transfer Station, West Yorkshire for around approximately 5,300 tonnes in the second contract year and each year after.

7 Delivery direct for treatment for Breckland & South Norfolk Area

Direct delivery by RCV of food waste (commercial & residential) from Breckland & South Norfolk Area, Norfolk for around approximately 6,399 tonnes in the first contract year and possibly rising to around 9,629 each year after.

7 Collection & treatment from Costessey, Norfolk

Collection & treatment of food waste (commercial & residential) from Costessey, Norfolk for around approximately 3,300 tonnes in year 1 rising to around 7,050 tonnes for the following years.

Renewal Options

Minimum term of 2 years to 30th September 2027 and an option to extend for 3 further 1 year extensions to 30th September 2030.
