Continuation of Water Supply and Sewerage Services to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's Corporate Sites, School's (those utilising the corporate arrangements) and non-residential Housing managed sites. Please note VAT is not applicable and not included in the detailed Contract Values within this notice.

Legal Justification

The Council was unable to transfer its water supplies to the successful supplier within the set onboarding window following an initial procurement exercise. A Direct Award to the incumbent supplier is required to ensure continued provision of essential water supply and sewerage services, whilst a new procurement exercise (currently underway) is completed and supplies transferred to a new supplier. The direct award arrangements ensure continued provision of essential water supply and sewerage services to critical corporate Council sites, schools (those utilising the corporate arrangements) and non-residential Housing managed sites – which would not be able to operate without water supply. It should be noted that the detailed arrangements commenced on the 1 July 2025 to ensure the required continuity of essential water supply and sewerage services.
