Description
This contract is essential for Highways Maintenance team to deliver statutory duties, including: - minor maintenance works; - minor coated macadam patching and pothole reinstatement to carriageways and footways; - relaying and replacing slabs; - relaying and replacing kerbs and channels; - adjusting boxes; - fixing and adjusting small signs; - cutting and trimming trees, hedges and shrubs; - removing obstructions from the highway; - providing assistance to the emergency services; - reacting to civil contingencies which may include severe weather events and oil spills; The contract is intended to last for an initial 8 year period with two optional 2 year extensions
Total Quantity or Scope
The contract was let via open tender, the award criteria was 60% price, 30% quality, 10% social value. The contract length will be for 8 years, with the option to extend for up to a further 4 years (2 x 24month extensions).
