Description

The service provides for the initial diagnosis, follow-up & ongoing assessment for patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nARMD), retinal vein occlusions (RVO) & diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular oedema (DMO) across Leicester City, Leicestershire County and Rutland (LLR).

Total Quantity or Scope

The service must be Consultant led and is provided by Consultant Ophthalmologists specialised in Medical Retina, Associate Specialists, Medical Retina fellows, Ophthalmic Practitioners, Specialist Optometrists and Specialist Ophthalmic Photographers. The service is available to patients registered with a GP practice within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Providers will ensure that their professional indemnity is up to date and covers them for all tasks they are carrying out within this Locally Commissioned Service. This notice is confirmation of award under the Direct Award B PSR process. This is an existing service for a new provider. This is an activity-based service and payments will be made dependent on activity. The service will be provided until the 31st of March 2026.
