Description of the services to be provided: Investigation and management of disorders of binocular vision (how the eyes work together as a pair) and defects of eye movement. The ICB is intending to award a contract to an existing provider following direct award process C. The approximate lifetime value of the contract is £183,418. The dates between which the services are intended to be provided are 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2027 to continue providing a Community Orthoptic Service whilst a review of future requirements is undertaken.

Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by 14 October 2025. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.

The decision was made by the Strategic Planning and Integration Committee in line with the ICB's Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. The contracting arrangements are not changing considerably and the existing provider is performing the contract to a sufficient standard taking into account the key criteria The relative importance of the key criteria was weighted as equal.
