The need for contract modification has been brought about by the unforeseen circumstances causing delay in the tender process and is required to ensure continuity of contractual cover until the tender process can be concluded.

The current Contract 822440 has been extended by a further 12 months, utilising the second and third 6 month periods of the 3 x 6 months provision for extension available under the Terms and Conditions of Contract. This extension period may be utilised where the renewal. procurement. exercise is delayed, where there are no suitable tenders or where the procurement is the subject of a legal challenge preventing the award of the contract(s).
