Description
Winchmore School is a thriving mixed, community secondary school and sixth form in Laburnum Grove in the London Borough of Enfield. It has 1834 students aged between 11 and 18 years of age and is supported by a team of approximately 200 teaching and support staff. A number of staff in the catering team have LGPS pension schemes. There is one busy main restaurant with a modern, well-equipped kitchen and a separate sixth form café. There is a new sixth building adjacent to the main campus which opens in November 2024, with a new sixth form café scheduled to open as soon as possible after. Once the new café is operational, the existing sixth form café in the main building will remain open to serve sixth form students attending lessons in the main block, as well as some year 11 students.
Total Quantity or Scope
There is one busy main restaurant with a modern, well equipped kitchen and a separate sixth form café. There is a new sixth building adjacent to the main campus which opens in February 2025. The School Business Manager, Justine Marlowe, is developing the services to reflect the high aspirations of the Headteacher and SLT; she is tendering their catering services to deliver the very best service for every student at the school. The contract will commence on 25th March 2025 for an initial three years, with an option to extend for a further two years subject to client satisfaction and client agreement on budgets and service levels. This contract will reward maximising sales and FSM uptake through pro-active management, consistently high food quality and tangible contract support. The School and CCL expect the successful Contractor to reasonably guarantee their financial proposal and maintain excellent standards. The School use a two stage ‘Competitive Flexible’ process, beginning with a Selection Questionnaire (SQ) stage followed by an Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage after shortlisting. This process is managed under the Light Touch Regime, and the School reserves the right to refine the award criteria throughout.
