Description
1.1. South Cambridgeshire District Council are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced company to: Tender for Design and Build (including demolition of existing) Area 1 Demolish and clear site, Design and Construct 1 x Block of 7 Garages & 1 x block of 8 Garages- Laceys way, Duxford. Area 2 Clear site, Design and construct 1 x block of 8 garage size storage units with house style locking PVC door. Rectory Road, Duxford 1.2. SCDC will require the successful contractor to provide a customer focused service and show a commitment to providing an effective service that provides value for money to the Council and its residents. 1.3. General description of works: Design , demolish existing including the safe removal and disposal of asbestos roof sheets, supply and erect 7 & 8 No. prefabricated concrete garage units, 8 No. prefabricated storage units using existing concrete base and connecting to existing soakaways. A. Prefabricated panels to be of Pebble dash construction B. Roofing material to be that of steel box profile with a weather proof anti-glare coating C. Storage units to have façade at front with a house style PVC door, same size as garages for future ease of returning to garages should we need too D. All facias to be of PVC style material. E. All garage doors to have a locking mechanism with keys supplied.

1.4. Regular contact with SCDC's contract manager will be required throughout the contract, which may take the form of telephone, face to face or email. SCDC will need named contacts with the successful organisation and an escalation route. 1.5. SCDC will provide payment to the successful company on 30 days from the date of completion. SCDC's preferred method of payment is by Bank Automated Clearing System (BACS). Please note that any sub-contractors used by your firm must be paid within 30 days. 1.6. The contract will be undertaken using a JCT Works contract.
